Hello friends! We are senior higher education administrators with a combined 50 + years of experience and our podcast is about what goes on behind the scenes on college and university campuses. Meet Denise and Herminio

Denise joined Scripps College as vice president and secretary of the board of trustees in 2013. Denise is an accomplished leader with 25 years of experience in higher education. She has held leadership positions in both private and public institutions and has served in roles involving governance, strategic planning, marketing and communications, alumnae engagement, public events, donor engagement, and equity and justice.
She has been recognized for her innovative leadership style, which emphasizes collaboration and a focus on the needs of students, faculty, and staff. She has a deep understanding of the challenges facing higher education today and is committed to finding innovative solutions that address these challenges while maintaining a strong commitment to equity and justice.
Denise holds a Bachelor's degree from Scripps College, a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Michigan, and a doctorate degree in education (EdD, Leadership and Innovation) from New York University Steinhardt School. She is a sought-after speaker and presenter.
Denise is a traveler, having visited 39 countries and looking to hit the 50 mark by 2030. Her self-care includes yoga classes, enjoying her nieces and nephews, or curling up with a good book.

Herminio is a dentist (really? and what is he doing in this podcast?) that believes in the power of giving back to the community that he serves while reinventing himself to create an impact. He has been a clinician and educator at various dental and hospital academic institutions for over twenty years. He also held leadership positions at national dental associations in which he has been involved in strategic planning, DEI, communications, student and leadership engagement. In his various roles as Assistant Dean, Chair, and Co-chair at multiple initiatives, he has used various lenses to assess situations and to enhance or modify processes. Herminio has presented at national and international dental forums.
Herminio holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Puerto Rico, a dental degree from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, a Master’s in Business Administration (Healthcare Sector) from Fairleigh Dickinson, Silberman College of Business, and a Doctoral degree in Education (Leadership and Innovation) from the New York University, Steinhardt.
He enjoys traveling, reading, music, and photography in his spare time.
